COLOUR PICKERS
Here are two small Colour Picker programs that if you are into html or graphics you will find very useful they will both give you the colour codes in HTML output, Decimal RGB, and Hex RGB."HUEY" a html Colour Generator, will not take up much room on your hard-drive only 0.5 mg, comes with help files and is free, you need Windows 95-98-NT, Pentium 90 & 8 mg of ram for it to run. Call him up to check a web site you like the colours of, he will give you the html colour codes of back and foreground, hyper, visited, and active links... Download Huey Here
"VECTOR" is another Free Colour Generator that uses even less room on your hard-drive, it is preferred that you run a Pentium 90 but it could run on less (not tried it) Vector does not give you as much information as Huey. Vector gives you the values of the colour you run him over. Values given = Dec. RGB values, Hex RGB values and the HTML.3 output... Download Vector Here
FIRE WALLS
If your on the Internet at all, you should be running a Fire wall FOR YOUR PROTECTION. We and a lot of other Sites around the WWW think there is one above the rest, what's more its easy to set up and it's Free, there is also a Professional Version available for a Fee."ZONEALARM" Is generally regarded as the Best Firewall around, Free or Purchased. Download it and get it up and running on your system... If you've installed and configured it correctly, when next you get on the net "Zonealarm" will ask you if you want a particular program to access the Internet or not, Netscape I.E etc., From the options given, you can control whether a program needs to ask each time for access or is permanently allowed access, as you would with your Browser. "Zonealarm" will work away in the background blocking access to your system. To other computers, you are invisible. (remember this if you're ISP pings on the hour, you could be disconnected, because as far as it's concerned you are not there.) BTW, if you've been active on the net for anytime, you might be surprised the number of programs looking for contact out there in Cyberworld. "AD-AWARE" Quite a few free Programs on the Internet are basically a wolf in sheep's clothing, or not all they seem to be. Today a lot of them are declaring their involvement in undercover work, but not all... O.K. So here is a little program to remove all the known Spyware from your system. This small tool scans your system for the most common advertising Spyware, safely removing it from your system. How-ever please be advised that once the spy section has been removed from some of these programs, they might refuse to function. Personally, I find another program to do the same job.
